Clonbinane Goldfields
Access roads & Infrastructure
Client Project:
Clonbinane Goldfields
Location: Clonbinane, VIC
Client: Southern Cross Gold
Project Duration: 2025 – Ongoing
Services Delivered: Town Planning, Surveying, Civil Engineering and Project Management
Project Overview
Southern Cross Gold is establishing an exploratory gold and antimony mine at its Clonbinane Park site, approximately 60 kilometres north of Melbourne.
Diamond drilling has reached depths of more than 900 metres and produced promising results. An exploratory underground decline has since been opened, allowing mining equipment, including 40-tonne Moxy trucks, to access the mine.

Our Role
CSA has provided surveying and civil engineering design services for:
- Site access roads
- Infrastructure earthworks pads
- Raw water storage dams
- The 15-metre-deep box cut that forms the portal to the mine
Following planning approval from the Victorian Government, CSA worked closely with Southern Cross Gold and the selected contractors to support an efficient construction program and minimise downtime.

Project Highlights
Antimony is a valuable metallic mineral used across a range of industries. Central Victoria contains significant antimony resources, making the project an important opportunity for the region.
The project required practical and timely design solutions for complex mine infrastructure. Close collaboration with the construction team ensured that information was provided when needed, helping works progress efficiently.
Outcome
CSA’s surveying and design services have supported the development of the site and the establishment of underground mining operations.
This has been a fascinating project for our team, and CSA is proud to contribute to the establishment of this new mine.
