Land Surveyor

Key Responsibilities for role:

  • Conduct field surveys using GPS, total stations, and other surveying equipment

  • Perform cadastral, topographic, and engineering surveys

  • Set out works for construction projects (e.g. subdivisions, roads, infrastructure)

  • Collect, process, and analyse spatial data

  • Prepare survey plans, reports, and documentation

  • Interpret plans, titles, and legal documents for boundary determination

  • Liaise with engineers, planners, clients, and contractors

  • Ensure surveys comply with relevant legislation, standards, and regulations

  • Use surveying software (e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D, 12d) to draft and manage data

  • Assist with project coordination and timelines

  • Maintain accurate records of survey data and field notes

  • Support junior staff or field crews where required

 

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field

  • Previous experience in land surveying (cadastral, engineering, or construction surveying)

  • Proficiency with surveying equipment (GPS, total stations, digital levels)

  • Experience using software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, 12d, or similar

  • Strong understanding of cadastral boundaries, subdivisions, and title re-establishment

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and local authority requirements

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Effective communication skills when dealing with clients, contractors, and internal teams

  • Good time management and ability to manage multiple projects or deadlines

  • Current driver’s licence

Licensed Surveyor

Key responsibilities

  • Manage cadastral projects from commencement to completion

  • Undertake and supervise title re-establishment surveys, subdivisions, creation of easements etc.

  • Certify survey documentation

  • Review field data, calculations, plans and survey deliverables

  • Research titles, survey records and relevant planning requirements

  • Prepare and oversee tender submissions

  • Provide cadastral advice to clients and our planning and engineering teams

  • Manage project scope, budgets, and client expectations

  • Mentor graduate surveyors, technicians and surveyors pursuing registration

  • Maintain compliance with legislation, professional standards and internal quality systems

Skills & Experience

  • Current registration as a Licensed Surveyor in Victoria

  • Significant cadastral surveying and land-development experience

  • Strong knowledge of relevant surveying legislation, regulations and standards

  • Demonstrated experience preparing, checking and certifying cadastral plans

  • Proficiency with relevant surveying equipment and software, including Liscad & CAD

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • A current driver’s licence

  • Australian working rights
