About us

Locally owned and operated with 20+ years’ experience.

Our Company & Our Story

Our integrated team is made up of professional staff including civil engineers, licensed surveyors, urban planners, engineering and urban designers and administrative support staff.

Founded in 2006, by a group of professional colleagues from the former business Earth Tech Shepparton, who wanted a return to being locally owned and operated, Chris Smith & Associates (CS&A) has continued to grow and diversify, now employing approximately 25 staff across four office locations in Shepparton, Kilmore, Echuca and Wangaratta.

Whilst CS&A has a long history of servicing the land development industry, from small subdivisions to large residential estates, CS&A also services a vast variety of other clients and industries including Government, Municipal Councils, Water Corporations, Commercial and Industrial developments, Agriculture and Renewable Energy.

CS&A’s ability to diversify and work with our growing list of clients now sees us as a leading development consultant in the renewable energy sphere, successfully delivering over sixty renewable projects across NSW and Victoria.

As part of our commitment to our staff and clients CS&A maintains ISO certifications for ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management).

Supporting our Community

Our staff live in regional Victoria, covering a number of municipal areas including Greater Shepparton City Council, Mitchell Shire Council, Moira Shire Council, Strathbogie Shire Council and Campaspe Shire Council.

CS&A and are staff are proud contributors to our communities, with many of our staff holding formal roles in local community groups and volunteer agencies including sporting clubs, Rotary, CFA etc.

In addition to voluntary roles our staff undertake, CS&A are proud sponsor of a wide range of community sports and service groups.

CS&A understand the difficult nature of attracting professional staff to regional areas and this is why we work closely with local schools to create work experience placements and undergraduate placements for students eager to work in our industry. We also assist Infrastructure Network Goulburn Valley (IN-GV) with promoting our industry within the region.

We understand that regional Victoria contains a incredible amount of Cultural Diversity and CS&A embraces this along with a respect for our First Nations people. This is done through our organisation culture and leadership along with training in cultural awareness.
